Not only did you work with us on the phone and e-mails to get these jerseys done in a
month. You exceeded the timeline and got them to me a few days early!!! Although it may
not sound like a big deal, it WAS! The 3~4 extra days gave me enough time to get a couple
custom patches sown on, and look over the order before we got to the event this weekend!
I'm
really glad to see the Big Stick logo on the rear of the jerseys too! So then I can tell
everyone that asks (cause we know there will be lots of requests) who the company was that

Hi Paul,
Well
since I wrote that I had the pleasure of delivering the jerseys to the team and have them
worn and played in… a 4-0 victory by the way… I’ve done a lot (relatively
speaking compared to you, of course) of jerseys over the years and while I think it’s
safe to say that I have yet to deliver a dud, there’s something about these jerseys that really seemed to touch a nerve. The
reaction was more than positive for sure… the guys who take it all in stride were
complimentary and the guys who usually are quite complimentary were downright
effusive… I guess the combination of a primarily red jersey, air knit and lace-up
collar (the one thing I hadn’t done before) was irresistible. I think I told you this
before but in the past I have primarily got my jerseys from Teamco (which is right down
the street from the office) or AK… and I’ve certainly been happy with the
quality… AK makes a pretty rugged jersey with the double elbows and shoulders for
sure … and anyway I always like to think I can turn even a solid colour jersey into a
thing of beauty by a combination of good design, a good eye for style and an attention to
detail… but there is something about these SP jerseys that I just love… I think
I’ll be sticking with them for a while. There is a quality in terms of consistently
matching the colours and striping on the NHL jerseys that I don’t think the others
have, plus I think the sizing is more consistent and probably slightly more generous than
most. One thing I really loved about these jerseys is the fact that a large jersey
doesn’t also mean a long jersey, I found the cut on these reds was actually a tad
shorter which is usually something that most guys like unless they are quite tall. The
other thing I have noticed and heard about SP is that the sleeves are nice and wide.
Through
my print connections I have dealt directly with cresters and screen printers many times
and I’ve definitely found a few people out there who can turn my good idea into
reality… the main difference with you guys is that I don’t worry about some of
the stuff I used to lie awake at night thinking about because it had happened to me before
or wondering if I had conveyed some piece of information that I thought was obvious but
which might not be obvious to the person on the other end… and sometimes ending up
with things like numbers that don’t line up, numbers that are too far apart or not
properly centred, crests that are crooked, or a bad color match between jerseys, numbers
and printed crests.
I think
that is your main strength… you KNOW and appreciate hockey jerseys and your goal is
to produce the best possible jerseys. It’s not just a production line there. You
concern yourself with the fine details. If there is an issue that requires some kind of
decision to be made I know that you make judgement calls based on your experience and
knowledge and they are usually the same ones I’d make myself. For this State jersey
there was absolutely no thought in my mind of not having you do it… it seems like a
simple enough concept but I’ve seen many simple concepts look like lousy simple
concepts because the execution is lousy… so I have to say when quality is what I want
to end up with, Big Stick is the standard. The first thing I look for when I take delivery
is all the little details and with your work I am never disappointed. Like I always say, I
couldn’t have done it better myself…
Also, for
some reason the guys seem to get a real kick out of the “Big Stick” patch on the
back of the jerseys… I guess it’s a testosterone thing.

we just did, I was thinking of going with a primarily off white base with brown and red
trim. My dilemma is whether or not to go with the new 2008 style on these.
